Why am I a Beachbody Coach?

Why am I a Beachbody Coach?

I get asked this question a lot and sometimes it's in such a manner as to degrade what I do. That's okay though...they just don't understand.

They don't understand the feeling I get when one of my challengers...

~ Is able to get off their prescription medication because they are able to control their issue with the new lifestyle they live.

~ Is able to quit smoking in 21 days AND lose weight at the same time.

~ Is able to not only fit into but also WEAR a pair of shorts that they have had laying around but too afraid to wear in public.

~ Is able to say they no longer fear a relapse with their eating disorder because they actually ENJOY their new eating habits and the easy to follow structured plan.

~ Is able to get out and play with their children without feeling defeated and tired.

These are just SOME of the non-scale victories that I hear from my challengers. Many of them start this journey looking to lose weight but instead find SO MUCH MORE! Guess what....I AM A PART OF THAT! That is WHY I am a Beachbody Coach. I don't care what anyone says....it's the most rewarding....at times difficult....but TOTALLY WORTH IT job!

There are many who believe that coaches only do it for the money. Well guess what, some do. I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE! This has always been a difficult part for me to discuss because yes, I make money because I invest my time, love and support into each one of my clients but it's important to understand that MY family doesn't need my income. My husband provides a pretty great life for us and the money I make from this business is play money for me (like all those organization projects I like to do around the house....or the detox program that I ordered...or when I buy the new Beachbody workout programs). It's also a way to set my family up for the future...once my husband retires (whenever that may be LOL). So you see, that's not the driving force for me.

I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE! I WANT TO INSPIRE PEOPLE! I WANT TO LIVE A HEALTHY LIFE AND TEACH MY CHILDREN TO DO THE SAME!

That's my driving force. That is why I am a coach!

Coaching isn't for everyone. It's not an overnight success and it's no pyramid scheme. It takes someone who cares about others, wants to see others succeed and someone who is willing to learn as well as teach. I don't have a fitness degree, nor am I expected to. I have personal experience and a lot of it. I know what works for me and I have a whole network of other coaches that share their experiences. I don't put the programs together...Beachbody and the World's top trainers do that for us! I learn about each program, what it focuses on and most of the time I purchase the program to try it myself so I have the personal experience to share with each of you. An added bonus....I get to work from home, in my PJ's, in my bed with a towel on my head while drinking Shakeology®! I bet you don't get to go to work like that!

Listen, I said it before, this coaching thing isn't for everyone. I totally get that! BUT if it does sound like something you are interested in then please message me or fill out the form below and I can add you to my next 3 Day All-Access Pass Into Beachbody Coaching group. Sneak Peek Into Beachbody Coaching

I will admit, I was TOTALLY skeptical about Beachbody....not just the programs but the whole "Coaching Opportunity" as well. So I have decided to give the OUTSIDE WORLD a little glimpse IN so that they can decide for themselves if it is FOR THEM or NOT! This is not for everyone....but it just might be for you!

I've opened up a group where I'll share the answers to some frequently asked questions about what coaching is all about... You know... Questions & objections like:

- IS THIS some sort of PYRAMID SCHEME?!

- I am NOT at my goal yet... nor have I completed a program... Would that make me ineligible?

- How do you get paid?

- I am just NOT a salesperson!

- I am introverted and have a small network!

The list goes on and on...

If you would like to be one of those "flies on the wall" for the 5 day period... I don't need anything from you! All you have to do is click this link and request to join our group!

21 Day Fix Approved...Meal Prep Made Easy

If you are like me then you are busy and it's tough to find a lot of time to meal prep. My kids may look older because they are tall but a 2 year old and a 3 year old take up most of my time...mainly separating them so they stop fighting....but still my focus can't be in the kitchen non-stop to prep food. Especially when you add a husband and a household to keep going on top of my kids. There just aren't enough hours in the day! So I have had to come up with some ways to make meal prep super easy yet 21 Day Fix approved.

My challengers have asked me to share some of those meal prep ideas with them but I also wanted to share with all of you.

Okay, you can meal prep a BUNCH of chicken at once and it's a throw it in and forget about it kind of thing. I like to buy a whole chicken and put it in the crock-pot. You just sprinkle some seasoning (I use: 1 teaspoons paprika, 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon dried onion, 1 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon chili flakes. You mix all those spices together in a bowl then coat the whole chicken with olive oil then sprinkle the spice mixture on top of it.) I like to cut some sweet potatoes and throw in some baby carrots in the bottom, pour some organic veggie broth to cover the veggies and then place the chicken on top then cook it on low for 6 hours. Afterwards you shred the chicken and then you have quite a few meals ready to go. They make for great lunches at work...just ask my hubby. You can also skip the veggies and just cook the chicken (no need for the veggie broth if it's just chicken) and then you have a bunch of chicken prepared for salads or tacos...really anything! You can also get 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts and put them in the crock-pot. You cover them with a jar of organic salsa (or even homemade salsa which you can find the recipe to in the new Fixate cookbook) and then turn the crockpot on low for 6 hours. When it's done you shred up the chicken and you have plenty of meat for whatever you choose. Then of course if you live in Belgium then there are the Markets in each town on certain days. They have GREAT rotisserie chicken that you could buy and shred to use during the week. If you are looking to do something similar but live in the US then I suggest finding a place that uses good, no antibiotic chicken. Places like Wal-Mart do not use good chicken so please try to avoid that stuff!

I don't typically do elaborate snacks so my prep is super easy. I make sure I cut up all my fruits and portion them out right away. You can put them in Ziploc bags to store them. However, I like to portion my snacks out with my lunch as seen in the picture below. I also boil enough eggs for the week which is super easy and quick. Honestly, the best thing you can do for your snacks is make them super simple so all your prep should be is cutting fruit or boiling the eggs. So many times people over complicate the process.

(The pic above shows my snacks in one container and then in the bottom portion you see my salads for lunch. I use these containers but there are plenty of options to choose from.)

Don't be afraid to eat the same thing each day for most your meals! I do it! I use my dinners as my "new meal" of the day. You can even plan more portions when you cook your dinner so that you have leftovers for lunch the next day. That alleviates the pressure to prep for lunches.

I personally do not prep my dinner items because I work from home and can cook dinner when I need to. If you are busy and work outside the home then you can always try to cook Monday night's dinner on Sunday, then you can stay a day ahead and only have to reheat the items. I do like to pre-cut my veggies if I can sneak that in at nap time or on Sunday's during meal prep. I have also used meal prep Sunday to cut and roast a week's worth of veggies using this recipe. That means all I am making for dinner is the meat and warming up the veggies. Another go to quick and easy option for prepping dinner is making a big pot of spaghetti sauce. It's easily freezable and you can make an abundance of it so then all you have to do for dinner (or even lunch) is boil up some noodles. Again, the Fixate cookbook has awesome options on using the sauce in multiple ways so that's it's fresh and new.

I hope that these options help you to get some meal prep done in a quick way. I know that your time is precious and that when you first start out, meal prepping can take hours. I have been there! That's why I try to stick to the crock-pot for chicken, I cut my veggies and fruits, boil some eggs and portion out my salad items.

Be SMART, Set Goals!

We are over half way through the year so today I want to talk a little about setting goals. Some of you like to make New Year's Resolutions which are goals by another name. The question is do you stick to them and are they SMART goals?
I have always been a person that sets goals for myself, my career, my relationships with family and friends, pretty much everything. I am a goal oriented person. I get so excited to reach my goals and once I do then I don't stop there....I set MORE goals. It's what drives me.

Now I understand that not everyone is like me in that aspect but I do think it's important to set goals so you know where you are heading or at least where you want to go. If you aren't looking to achieve more then you will simply stay where you are. Not that where I am in my life is a bad thing, I just feel like you should always try to grow as a person and goals help you do that.

So what are SMART goals? Well to answer that, first you have to know that SMART is an acronym.

S - Specific
(Who, What, What, Why, Where?)
M - Measurable
(How much, How often, How many?)

A - Attainable
(Achievable?)

R - Realistic
(Is it important to what you want to achieve ultimately?)

T - Time
(By when?)

Now seeing what that acronym means, does it make a little more sense? This process helps us make goals that we can actually accomplish.

Setting goals can be tricky. You can end up setting to many goals. Your goals can be to big, as in not specific enough. However, the biggest mistake I find people make is that they don't write their goals down! Lets be real, we all have a lot going on and we can lose sight of our goals if they aren't written somewhere! I personally bought a notebook that I use for goal setting only. This keeps all my goals, whether short term or long term, in one place.

How you make SMART goals is something you are probably wondering about. Well, first you must decide on what you want to achieve. For me it's important that I get both kids potty trained. So lets use that as an example on how to make it a SMART goal.

Intention - Get both kids potty trained

S - Potty Train Hayleigh & Bella

M - Start with 3 times a day (wake up, lunch, before bed) then slowly progress to every 30 minutes sitting on the potty. Once accomplished that then switch to big girl undies and they go when needed.

A - Yes

R - Yes

T -  Hayleigh by September & Bella by December

Setting SMART goals also helps you put a plan into action. Did you notice that my measureable section caused me to start the plan and then the time section caused me to set a deadline.  This allows me to not only set my goal but make a plan on attaining that goal. When you do this process you will complete the first two steps of reaching your goals!

All you have to do next is put your plan into action and stick with it. Some might say that's the hardest part and it can be; however, that's the most rewarding part! Knowing you are working towards your goal and you actually have a plan of action that is effect means you are way ahead of most people. Don't get caught up saying "this is too hard" and all that negative stuff. It's not too hard. When doing your SMART goal, you said that your goal was attainable and realistic therefore it's achievable. Even if you don't see it, if you are sticking to the plan then it's working. If you don't see any results that are moving you towards your goal then simply re-evaluate your plan of action.

A good example of this is my daughter Hayleigh and her potty training. She had set backs with her potty training when we moved overseas and she was REFUSING to potty train. I was at the end of my rope and had no idea what to do. No matter what I tried it wasn't working. I mean we were trying everything in the book! The day came that she started pre-school (here in Belgium they start them at 2 1/2 years old) and I felt horrible sending her to school not potty trained. The teacher told me it wasn't a big deal and that they would work with her. I'm not kidding, within two weeks she was using the potty all day. I wasn't seeing the improvement at home though....I asked her teacher at our one on one conference how she was doing and she told me she wasn't using her pull up at all during the day. She used the potty all day and I was in shock! I didn't think I was reaching my goal of getting her potty trained but in reality, with a little help, we were reaching it.

Being SMART about your goals can help you achieve them much quicker. You don't want to make your goals so vague that you may never be able to accomplish them and without a plan of action or a time frame then you are only wishing. Push yourself outside of your comfort zone and make SMART goals! Chalene Johnson always talks about having one PUSH goal so I make sure that my yearly goals have one PUSH goal and then a few more smaller goals. Then I also make weekly & monthly goals. I spend my Monday mornings writing out my weekly goals and the last week of the month I write out my goals for the next month. It may seem like a lot for those of you who are just starting out with your goals so do what's comfortable for you. Just make sure you have one PUSH goal. If you are wondering about PUSH goals then you can pick up Chalene's book here to learn more.

I'm here for questions or if you want some help. This is all my personal thoughts and take on setting goals so you may even have a system that works better. If you think so then please share so I can try it out! XoXo
